Demo Reel

Hello! Sorry I have posted anything in months! I've been pretty busy working on this sucker:

My Fall 2012 Demo Reel

(which doesn't want to cooperate so you'll have to go to the link below)

My hope is to clean up and improve the unfinished animations after graduation. Oh yes! I'm graduating in two weeks! WOOHOO!!!! Although now the real work begins... looking for a real job! Wish me luck! I'll try to keep posting any progress I make.

Summer Project

Ok, so I admit I haven't done much this summer, but I did get a commission to do a painting of a picture. Mind you, I'm just using the bodies. The background and colors will be changed so I can call it my own.

Below is the original picture and my wip sketched on canvas.

Crunch Time!

Last day of school is this Thursday.... CRUNCH TIME!

Here's a little bit of the group project I've been working on. I animated and cleaned up this scene, which took a lot long than it looks :P

Chase?

Yay! I'm done tweening my skip cycle! I kinda like the way it looks, so I may not clean up this animation....

Also, my teacher suggested I add a small man chasing after this water balloon character to make it more amusing... I hope he likes it!

Advertising

This is a project I made for an Adobe Illustrator class I took m second quarter at Art Institute (Fall 2009). It was the first time I used Illustrator & I totally fell in love! I used it at work every day :)

For the project we had to select an event (in this case I chose the Atlanta Arts Festival) & then design an advertising poster in a specific art genre (in this case I chose one of my favorites, art nouveau).

Acrylic Paintings

Here are a couple of acrylic paintings I've made over the past few years!

30" x 40" acrylic painting; comissioned painting of photograph (Summer 2010)

18" x 24" acrylic painting; wedding present for my cousin :) (Spring 2011)

18" x 24" acrylic painting; donation for my dance class' silent auction (Summer 2011

24" x 18" acrylic painting; present for my friend's new baby's nursery (Fall 2011)

March & Skip Cycles

So I've finished the in-betweens of my march cycle. Now I need to finish my turn around so I can clean up the character, & I need to create a simple background.

Here's the march!:

I'm also working on a skip cycle. I think this one will be just a rough animation (no clean up). Here is the key frame animation:

Character Development

So my teacher gave me an assignment to do 30 character sketches of any one character. I decided to do the Evil Queen from the TV show Once Upon a Time. Below are a couple of concept sketches:

Side Note** I drew these sketches over two days (purple & green last Thursday; & blue & black this past Saturday), I just now got around to scanning them in :P

The body on the left is the one I liked the most so my teacher told me to go from there & sketch out some more poses, faces, & clothing (below):

I liked the two poses on the right so I went crazy & drew a bunch of crazy Evil Queen outfits :) which are below:

There are a few that I like but I'll have to wait until Thursday to see what my teacher thinks. See you next time!

March Cycle - Key Frames

Hello!
I'm working on 2 different walk cycles. One for a marching band boy & another for a cute little girl skipping. Below is the key frame animation for the march.

And here's the rough turnaround for the little girl.

Background Concepts

Ok, so I've been on a mental vacation for the past 2 or 3 weeks but it is time to work! My group has assigned me background artist for the 2min animation we will be creating this quarter.

I'm going for a market in an alley during the middle ages. There aren't many market "stands" because I have another team member working on that for me. Below are some of my sketches so far.

"Puppy Chow" - Rough Animation

Yay! I'm done! Well.... sort of... I finished all the key frame animation most of the in-betweens. But my backgrounds & audio are complete. My teacher really likes it, I hope you do too!

I'll be working on in-betweening the rest of the animation for the next week and a half, that way I can start clean-up animation the first week of April (which is when Spring quarter starts). I'll also be working on complete character turnarounds, phoneme sheets, and facial expressions in April, so look forward to that too! :)

I'll probably be working on other projects during this spring break, but I'll inform you about those later. Have a great day! :D

Animation

I finished this scene early yesterday morning but forgot to post it :P It's the 2nd out of 4 scenes. The rest are pretty long so the next time I post it will probably be the whole animation.

Just as a side note (in case you were wondering), I drew everything (backgrounds & characters) in Adobe Flash.

Life Drawing

Went with my friend to Apache Café last night. I love that place! Live jazz music, yummy desserts, French press coffee, AND life drawing!! The best.

I like sketching in colored pencil because not only does it force you to not erase, but it's colorful too! :) Here are a couple sketches:

Sorry the pictures are kind of dark. My sketchbook is bigger than my scanner so I have to take pictures of my drawings :(

Character Concepts / Turnarounds

Yay! First post! Well I'm starting my last year of animation and this quarter has been pretty tough with all the work I've been doing, but I like the challenge. :)

Here's one of the projects I've been working on this quarter. It's about a 2 minute short I created about my dog being sneaky and eating our food. I've already created the animatic with my storyboards & some sound effects & music I found online. Now I'm going to be spending the next week creating the rough animation, which I will be posting in small chunks during the week. It's due Tuesday, March 20th so I'm going to be pretty busy all week!

Here's a couple concept sketches & turnarounds I made for my characters (my dog Ari & my mom).
